In-Building Summit 2010

The rapid growth of indoor usage of mobile broadband services and the evolution towards LTE (4G) give rise to new questions about the choice of indoor solutions and technology evolutionary path best suited to meet current and future indoor coverage and capacity needs. Operators must re-evaluate their radio network planning strategies and decide how to upgrade their macro network and deploy picocells and/or femtocells to ensure adequate indoor coverage for future services.

This year’s Summit will address all these topics in detail, from persistent challenges such as optimising cell planning and finding the optimum mix of in-building solutions for different building types as well as tunnels to emerging indoor coverage challenges associated with the evolution to LTE and the increasing deployment of pico- and femtocells.

Key questions to be addressed:

How can you meet building owners’ demands for future proof in-building solutions?
What are the requirements for designing an optimal indoor LTE network that will smoothly integrate with the outdoor network?
Are enterprise femtocells a cost-efficient and convenient alternative for meeting the indoor coverage and capacity needs of enterprise customers?
What solutions are available for optimising in-building coverage and capacity to manage the exponential growth of data usage indoors?
How can you overcome the challenges involved in site acquisition for in-building coverage?
