  • 1994 – Graduated as Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (section of Telecommunications and Electronics) by the IST (Instituto Superior Técnico) – Lisbon Technical University;

  • 1995 – 2000 – Radio Cell Planning and Optimization in South and Lisbon Areas, as member of the technical staff;

  • 1997 – Training and Tests on optical fiber and leaky feeder technologies, respectively in RFS-Hannover and Munique Metro Line;

  • 1997 – Integration Project of the 6 initial microcells in TMN Network;

  • 2001 – 2005 – Team leading on Cell Planning and Optimization – Lisbon Area;

  • 2001 – until now – Planning and management for dedicated coverage projects, in partnership with the other Portuguese celular network operators, concerning shared infrastructures;

  • 2006 – 2007 - Radio planning management for Lisbon Metropolitan Project and Portugal pendular trains;

  • 2006 – until now – Team Leading on TMN Network Dedicated Coverage Projects, including Portugal mainland and islands.

  • 2007 – until now - planning and management for mobile infrastructures during events.

  • 2007 – 2009 – speaker in presentations among portuguese universities and international conferences (IIR and Informa)    


 


Steven Hartley
Steven Hartley Principal Analyst Ovum

Steven Hartley is a Principal Analyst on Ovum's Mobile analyst team. Steven provides strategic advice to wireless operators and vendors, which includes some of the largest players in the world.

The team provides strategic analysis of industry and product trends, evaluations of the wireless strategy of major players and reports with advice on the opportunities and threats in the mobile market. His areas of focus include market forecasting, mobile broadband, WiMAX & LTE migration strategies, femtocells and the North American wireless markets.

Steven has over ten years' experience in fixed and wireless communication market analysis, and has spoken at leading industry events including the 3GSM World Congress.
Prior to joining Ovum, Steven worked at major industry information and analysis organisations as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers. His research areas have included mobile devices and Java as a technology in the wireless market.
