Pascal Rialland

Pascal Rialland, 47, has professional experience gained in the US and France.


He began his career in 1985 at Xerox France where he held several positions within the Sales Division before joining Xerox Corporation in the US.


On his return to Xerox France in 1992 he had a series of responsibilities before being appointed to Vice President in charge of servicing large accounts.


In 2000 he joined SFR as Sales Director within the Sales and Marketing Division before taking up the job of General Manager of SFR Entreprises in 2002.


After that he became General Manager for SAP in France and in North Africa where, in particular, he saw through the acquisition and integration of Business Objects.


Pascal Rialland has been General Manager of Omea Telecom since 8 March 2010


Ou Yan
Ou Yan Managing Director China Telecom (Europe)

Ou Yan was appointed to the position of Managing Director of China Telecom (Europe) Limited in April 2006, the company’s first European venture. In this role he is responsible for all China Telecom’s business operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, driving business growth and ensuring China Telecom Europe becomes the leading Integrated Communication Solution provider between Europe and Asia. Prior to his present role, Ou played an instrumental part in setting up China Telecom Hong Kong International, the Asia Pacific arm of China Telecom. He has contributed immensely to the global expansion plan of China Telecom to become the world class integrated service provider.


Ou received an Engineering Degree from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1987, a Masters Degree in Engineering from the Posts and Telecommunications University in 2003 and an Executive MBA from the celebrated Guanghua School of Management at Peking University in 2005 respectively. 


During his illustrious career at China Telecom, Ou has made a number of outstanding achievements:


As leader of the International Telecommunications division, he developed and launched a variety of new international products. His launch of Asia Pacific Internet Exchange (APIX) in 2002 placed China Telecom in a position of strength in the international networking arena. Throughout his time in Hong Kong, Ou turned Hong Kong into China Telecom’s core strategic business node in the Asia Pacific region.


In his latest prominent role as Managing Director of China Telecom (Europe) Limited, Ou has successfully upgraded the London-based head office into a fully-fledged corporation and the German representative office into a wholly owned subsidiary, launched China Telecom ‘Points of Presence’ in London, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Paris, Helsinki, Johannesburg, Moscow, and Dubai, and set the company vision of co-constructing an ‘Information Silk Road’, paralleling the ancient road, to help promote economic prosperity and cultural exchange between Europe and Asia. He also developed two suites of products tailored specifically to the needs of multinational corporations and Chinese enterprises in Europe, namely CTExcelink and CTExcelbiz.


However, in his most outstanding achievement thus far, Ou led China Telecom (Europe) Limited in winning one of the most prestigious and coveted awards for Chinese invested businesses in the UK – UK Inward Investor of the Year 2006.


Outside China Telecom (Europe) Limited, Ou currently serves as Vice President of the Chinese Enterprises Association in Britain (CEAB), an organisation led by the Chinese Embassy to provide support to Chinese enterprises in the UK. He worked with the London Chambers of Commerce and Industry to establish the Chinese Business Association (CBA), and has been invited to assume the role of Founding Chairman of the CBA and CBA Committee. Meanwhile, in recognition of his corporate management expertise and extensive knowledge of the China market, Ou was invited to serve as Board Advisor on China-UK trade to the LCCI Board of Directors.


Daniel Preiskel

Daniel is a co-founder of Preiskel & Co LLP, a City of London law firm established to provide specialist advice in the telecoms, media and technology sectors.  He is particularly recognised for his commercial and regulatory telecoms work in the UK and internationally. 


He is experienced in advising MNOs, MVNOs and MVNAs on all aspects of MVNO related issues in various jurisdictions.  He has also been advising MNOs, fixed line carriers and regulators on spectrum auctions and mobile termination rate matters.  He also advises clients across the telecommunications sectors on contractual, corporate and regulatory matters throughout the world.


Daniel is Vice Chair of the IBA Communications Law Group, and actively involved with the Mobile Entertainment Forum, Internet Telephony Service Providers Association and the Internet Service Providers Association, being a regular speaker at prestigious industry and legal conferences.


According to Chambers UK: “Daniel Preiskel leads the team and is regarded as the man telecoms companies turn to for strategic advice thanks to his grassroots understanding of the industry”.


Daniel has been ranked for about 15 years as one of the UK’s leading telecoms lawyers in the top independent research guides.  He speaks seven languages, graduated in law from Jesus College, Cambridge University and has also passed the SFA investment banking exams. Previous experience includes working as an investment banker in Morgan Grenfell’s (now Deutsche Bank) telecoms team, and heading telecoms and technology departments at two City law firms. He also worked in the European Commission’s Competition Directorate on antitrust matters in the telecoms sector.


His hobbies include travel, opera, watching and playing football and tennis as well as going to art exhibitions.

Roberto Giacchi
Roberto Giacchi CEO Poste Mobile

Mr Giacchi graduated in Economics from the University of Rome and, subsequently, entered the military Academy and became an officer in the Carabinieri Army. He then completed his education with a specialization in Finance at the Harvard University and in General Management at the London Business School.


In 1994 he began his professional career at KPMG, initially in the auditing sector and then in the management consulting services.  In 1998, he joined the Telecom Italia Group with the responsibility for business development in the Latin-American and European regions. In 1999, his professional career continued in Bain & Company, the management consulting firm, where he became a Partner in 2004. Here he strengthened his skills and proficiency in the field of Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Internet. He successfully executed a number of strategic, commercial, organizational and technological projects both for domestic and multinational clients. In July 2007, he was appointed CEO of PosteMobile, the mobile phone company of the Poste Italiane Group. In this role, he has run the company from the initial start-up phase through to the economic and financial break even in 2010.


Jacques Bonifay

Jacques is the CEO, Chairman, and Found of Transatel and is in charge of the company's overall management. He supervises all the Strategic and International Developments and Shareholder Relations.


In November 2009, Jacques was elected as President of Alternative Mobile the French MVNO association gathering the biggest French MVNOs (Virgin Mobile, Carrefour Mobile, Auchan Mobile, NRJ Mobile, KPN France Mobile…). Jacques is now leading all the Association MVNO efforts towards the French government and the French Telecom regulatory authority.


Previously, Jacques was in charge of Strategy & Business Development for the Professional & Consumer Division of Alcatel. Among other missions he initiated, with several operators, new businesses based on fixed mobile convergence and e-commerce.
Before that, Jacques worked for McKinsey & Co. Paris office as a Strategy Consultant and undertook missions in the area of Information Technology. He started his career with Matra Marconi Space in Technical Development and Sales Management.


Jacques has an engineering degree from ENSERG/INPG (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Electronique et de Radioélectricité de Grenoble) – France, and a MBA degree from INSEAD.

Corina Bulucea

Corina Bulucea joined Computaris as Sales and Marketing Director in 2007. She is responsible for leading the company's international corporate new business and emerging market expansion efforts by developing and growing the company's partner programme and directing the company's marketing activities, including strategic marketing, communications, positioning and market intelligence.

Corina brings 10 years of experience in channel sales and brand management in the telecommunication and consumer electronics businesses. Prior to joining Computaris, Corina held a channel sales management position with Vodafone Romania. She holds MSc in Marketing and an Executive MBA from Washington University.


Steve Pittman
Steve Pittman International Business Development Manager Teleena

Steve (46) currently resides in Maastricht, The Netherlands and joined Teleena in September 2009. Since then Steve has been instrumental in the launch of Teleena’s UK activities, from securing the radio access wholesale arrangement with Teleena’s hosting partner, negotiating with the regulator to secure Teleena’s own MNC status through to the acquisition of Teleena’s first UK MVNO customer.


Steve is currently responsible for Teleena’s International Business Development and the roll-out into Pan-Global territories.


Prior to this, from the beginning of 1999, Steve held a number of management positions within Vodafone Netherlands, firstly managing the Interconnect and Carrier Relations business unit. Between 2001 and 2005 he took responsibility for the International Roaming unit and during this period simultaneously undertook several Vodafone Group roles in strategic Interconnect and Roaming disciplines. After a short spell managing Consumer Retail Pricing, in 2006 when Vodafone Netherlands opened for wholesale Steve headed up the MVNO business unit successfully ensuring the acquisition of a number of MVNO/E’s onto the Vodafone network.

While launching new solutions on EmblaCom Mobility Suite (EMS) and new business models like hosting, EmblaCom utilizes Ari’s wide experience driving business within most of the European countries.


Guy Reiffer

Guy Reiffer was appointed Vice President, Marketing for MACH in July 2010. In this role, he assumes full responsibility for the company’s global marketing strategy and programme, including product marketing and marketing communications of the company’s full portfolio of hub-based communication solutions. He reports directly to Rich Grohl, Chief Commercial Officer. Guy originally joined MACH as Product Marketing Director in early 2010.


A 20 year veteran of the telecommunications industry, Guy has worked for the last 10 years in convergence solutions, mainly at small start up innovators where he has headed up both Marketing and Product Marketing functions.  These roles have covered the areas of fixed to mobile convergence, presence & instant messaging, multimedia communication solutions for corporate, and the GSMA Rich Communications Suite.


Guy started out in the telecoms industry in 1989, first working for British Telecom in the UK and then moving to Nortel where he designed and deployed telecom networks in both Energis (UK) and Infostrada (Italy) as part of the deregulation of the telecoms market in the 1990s. During this time, Guy was instrumental in defining the first operator network to use only VoIP in BT Spain.

Ceri Jones

Ceri Jones works as a Lead Consultant at Analysys Mason, based in London, and specialises in market analysis, proposition and business plan development. She has worked with major clients across the telecoms industry, including regulators, mobile operators, fixed providers, financial institutions and technology vendors. Clients include Etisalat, Vodafone Essar, Ofcom, GSMA, Maxis, BT, Vodafone Group, Oger and Alcatel–Lucent.
Ceri has experience across fixed and mobile voice and data, and mobile applications, in addition to wholesale and enterprise-focused services.
Since joining Analysys Mason, Ceri has worked on end-to-end proposition development, business plan creation and analysis, financial evaluation and scenario modelling across a variety of geographies. During the course of these projects, she has acted as team member, mentor, stream leader and project manager, and has frequently led board-level presentations and internal client workshops, presenting findings and developing strategic recommendations. She has in-depth knowledge of mobile virtual networks and is skilled in benchmarking and statistical analysis.
Ceri has analysed the MVNO market across a wide variety of geographies and client types, including both existing and potential MVNOs, and their host operators. Recent experience includes creating the proposition and business model for the launch strategy of a new MVNO entrant in Western Europe, which was used by our clients in order to gain Board and strategic partner approval for launch. In addition, she completed a financial valuation of MVNOs in Western Europe. Prior to this, Ceri conducted a benchmarking exercise of MVNO agreements highlighting the relevant contract terms and that minimise the risk of bringing a new partner on board.

Kristian Myrup, Former Managing Director in Lebara Danmark, led the launch of Lebara Mobile Denmark in 2005, and has since then been awarded several fast track rewards for financial performance with Lebara as well as the prestigious reward  “Best Telecommunication Company in Denmark” in 2008. In 2006, Kristian was also the interim Managing Director for the Swedish  Lebara company, and in 2010 Kristian served as assisting Managing Director of the German Lebara operation, with specific assignment to build the North German Sales and Distribution organisation. Previously, Kristian held several VP positions in TDC, including the start up of Mixit, a fully owned TDC MVNO operation that gained 2% market share in just over one year. Before that, Kristian served as VP for TDC Mobile Residential Market. From 1998 to 2000, before his career setting up MVNO companies in Denmark, Germany and Sweden, Kristian started up a German based Wholesale operation, a new Division of Talkline GmbH, and achieved EUR 150 million revenue in less than 30 Months, negotiating wholesale agreements with operators. Kristian holds a Master of Science in Finance and Business Administration,  as well as MBA-studies from Cranfield School of Management and management training at TDC. Kristian has 18 years of experience within Sales and Marketing in Sweden, Germany and Denmark.


Jason Bellman

Jason Bellman is Director of MVNO and Wholesale Operations, part of the Wholesale business within Everything Everywhere, the joint venture between France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom which brings the Orange and T Mobile brands together under one company in the UK market.


Jason is responsible for the 21 MVNOs which between cover all key segments in the UK market. He is also responsible for the MVNO strategy, revenues, commercials and Product Portfolio across the Wholesale Division (including MVNO, Roaming, Interconnect and M2M).


Before leading up the MVNO and Wholesale Operations business unit, Jason led the MVNO business unit for Orange; key successes included winning the 2G national roaming contract to supply Hutchison 3 (UK) 2G and taking the number of MVNO deals from zero to eight in three years. Jason organically grew the business unit which was consistently one Orange UK’s highest growth business areas.


Jason started his career in Telecomms leading strategic change initiatives and commercial product launches in Orange.


Prior to joining Orange, Jason, aged 39, spent seven years as an officer serving in the British Army.

Jean-Pierre Bienaimé has been Chairman of the UMTS Forum since January 2003. Joining France Telecom (FT) in 1979, his responsibilities included financial management and planning at national and regional level. He has also served as Advisor to the General Director of Moroccan Telecommunications, Director of Marketing and Product Development for international business networks & services at FT, Director of Business Development and Subsidiaries at France Cables & Radio, Chief Executive Officer of Nexus International, and Director of International Development at France Telecom Mobiles. As Group Technical Support Director at Orange, he provided networks and IT support to the business units and mobile affiliates worldwide, and contributed to re-branding and franchising programmes.


Joining France Telecom (FT) in 1979, his responsibilities included financial management, marketing and product development for international business services and corporate networks, Director of Business Development and subsidiaries at France Cables & Radio (FT Group), Chief Executive Officer of FT subsidiary Nexus International, and Director of International Development at France Telecom Mobiles (2000).


After the purchase of Orange by France Telecom, Bienaimé was appointed Group Technical Support Director at Orange until January 2003. In this position, he provided technical and IT support to the business units and mobile affiliates of Orange and France Telecom worldwide, and contributed to Orange's corporate programmes such as re-branding and franchising.


Jean-Pierre graduated from the ESSEC Business School - Paris (MBA), from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, and from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Postes et Télécommunications - Paris. He also holds an executive degree from INSEAD - Fontainebleau, and attended a senior executive programme at Kelley School of Business, Indiana University at Bloomington, USA.


Philip Macridis

Philip Macridis is Chief Operating Officer and runs the Mobile Division at Telenet, part of Liberty Global International portfolio of European Cable operators.  Philip has drawn on 24 years of Telecom, Media and Retail experience to establish Telenet Mobile in the Belgian market. His goal is to turn Mobile into Telenet’s main revenue growth engine and to become one of the first Cable Operators to successfully provide converged Fixed and Mobile broadband services to consumers. Achievements have included spearheading the creation of Telenet’s Mobile Division, establishing new strategic direction and acquiring a retail chain to secure distribution. Most notably for a new entrant in a market of 6m consumers, Mobile revenue has grown from €18m in 2009, €65m in 2010, and is on track to reach €100m in 2011 delivering  40% of revenue growth at Telenet. This market success has recently helped Philip secure the iPhone for Telenet, ahead of incumbents Belgacom and KPN. Prior to that, Philip held roles of Managing Director at Carphone Warehouse and BestBuy Europe, the leading European retailers of Mobile devices and wireless solutions. At Carphone Warehouse Philip lead all Mobile MVNO networks and participated in the UK and Virgin Mobile France executive boards. Previous responsibilities included several business development and sales Director positions at BSkyB, Europe’s leading satellite PayTV operator, senior roles at Inmarsat as well as founding a satellite technology company in partnership with the European Space Agency and other leading firms. Philip holds a Masters in Satellite Communications, a BS in Electronics and Communications and several international patents

Michel Dupont  graduated as a Licentiate Economics Sciences to the ICHEC in Brussels. Michel started his career in the media in 1994, as Account Executive at Full Page. Afterwards Michel arrived at the Vlaamse Media Maatschappij as Account Manager, and then as a Development Manager. At the end of 1999 Michel joined the Carat media agency in the Netherlands where he was RTV Director and Account Director. At the end of 2002 Michel moved from Carat to MTV Networks. As Head of Operations he was responsible for all MTV Networks related products in Belgium. At the end of 2004 he was appointed as VP, General Manager. As from 2008, Michel Dupont became SVP, General manager MTV Networks Belgium.
In November 2010, Michel was promoted to Senior Vice President, Mobile Brand Licensing, MTV Networks International.  In this new role, Dupont is leading and further developing all MTVNI’s International mobile brand licensing efforts around the world.

This experience stems from a consulting background, as well as hands-on operational experience working directly with clients in interim management roles. Prior to CSMG, Mike was a Partner with both Analysys Mason and Redbox Consulting. Mike co-founded niche telecoms and media consultancy, Redbox Consulting in 2004, to work with clients to develop and execute new proposition, growth and market entry strategies. Redbox was acquired by Analysys Mason in early 2008. During his career, Mike has worked with a wide range of clients including BT, C&W, Cellcom, ONO, Optus, Orange, Qwest, RIM, Telenet, Telefonica, Teleware, Telstra, T-Mobile and Virgin.

Stefan Figge
Stefan Figge Head of Wholesale Business Development Deutsche Telekom Group

Stefan joined Deutsche Telekom Group in 2009 as a member of the International Partnership Development team. In this role he was building DT’s partnering service portfolio as well as negotiating and closing partnership deals with other telco operators. One of his major achievements is managing the successful cooperation with Turkcell which, among others, was leading to the launch of the MVNO Turkcell Europe in Germany.


In September 2011 Stefan moved to the International Mobile Wholesale team of Deutsche Telekom to drive the development of the wholesale business across the footprint. As Head of Business Development for International Mobile Wholesale Stefan is responsible for acquiring wholesale deals with third parties and support them to become Virtual Operators (VO) within DT’s footprint.


Stefan has more than 10 years of international work experience in the telecom industry as he also worked e.g. as a consultant at Computer Sciences Corporation, a global ICT service provider, and Detecon Consulting. Stefan holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Goethe University Frankfurt a. M. with a research focus on internet

Tim Heal Consultant CSMG

Tim Heal is a Consultant at CSMG with over 5 years in telecoms and 3 years in strategy consulting.  Tim will draw on his MVNO experience including strategic business case and market assessment through to proposition development, partner evaluation and commercial negotiation support. Additionally he has experience in market sizing, competitor, price and tariff benchmarking, go to market strategy, valuation and fund raising, due diligence, and regulatory work.
 
Tim has worked with mobile and fixed network operators, industry associations, regulators and private equity firms, across a range of geographies including UK, Europe, USA, and Australasia.  Prior to CSMG, Tim was a business development manager for a top tier global SMS aggregator and wireless technology company.
