Pre-Conference Workshop

Monday 23rd May 2011

The business case for developing an intelligent outsourcing strategy
Led by Edward Hamilton - Analysys mason

To develop an appropriate sourcing strategy organisations need to consider the full outsourcing lifecycle. This masterclass will cover the four key areas that make up that endto-end process:

  • Making the decision to outsource: creating the right foundation for the outsourcing to be successful. This section of the masterclass will examine how to set appropriate expectations and how to draw together the in-house skills to create the right team to manage the outsource process

  • Procurement: typically outsourcing contracts are either adversarial or a partnership – and the tone of the project is set from day one of the procurement process. This section of the masterclass will examine how to achieve the right contract with the right metrics (for example, focusing on the network or the service)

  • Transition and transformation of services: this can take years, and this section of the masterclass will examine the process required to deliver transition successfully – ensuring that it is achieved on time and with minimal contract variation

  • Contract end: many organisations do not consider what will happen at the end of the contract. This section of the masterclass will examine how to manage contract end and ensure a smooth transition of service to any future supplier

AGENDA
